About us
Department of Airborne Activities (OLC) is part of Global Change Research Institute CAS – CzechGlobe, which is one of institutes of Czech Academy of Sciences. OLC provide technical support for airborne data acquisition and processing for the needs of CzechGlobe as well as for other organizations. OLC is very closely cooperating with CzechGlobe’s Department of Remote Sensing.
Brief history:
2004 – purchase of airborne hyperspectral scanner AISA Eagle
2005 – 2008 – project „Spectral-spatial scaling from leaf to canopy level using spectro-directional approaches in support of the GMES Sentinel-2: ´Superspectral´ mission“ [ESA PECS]
2006 – 2009 – project HYPER-I-NET – Hyperspectral Imaging Network [FP6]
2008 – 2012 – project EUFAR – European Facility for Airborne Reseach in Environmental and Geoscience [FP7]
2010 – 2015 – realization of CzechGlobe project [OP VaVpI]
2012 – 2014 – project HyDaP [OPVK]
2014 – 2018 – project EUFAR 2 [FP7]
2015 – Flying Laboratory of Imaging Systems (FLIS) starts to operate
2018 – foundation of EUFAR AISBL
2018 – start of FlexSense project [ESA]
2020 – UAS (drone) equipped by hyperspectral and thermal sensor starts to operate
2023 – Cooperation with CNR in the PRISCAV project focusing on PRISMA cal/val activities
